I joined the group a couple of days later as I was competing in the J-Bay for the J-Bay Open, which I was lucky enough to Win and bring my stoke back to the group.
For me Cape Town is the best place for the groups to get introduced to South Africa, the waves are good, amazing food, incredible mountains and endless amounts of explores with nature being at your finger tips.

The Monday we kicked off with an awesome surf session where ever got to get a couple of really good clean waves. We all went for lunch and got to know one each other a little better and headed out for another surf.

Tuesday, I got Apish( a local guy who helps under privileged kids in the townships to get down to the beach and learn to surf and be in a positive environment like surfing),  the waves had picked up quiet a bit and were rather challenging but the crew gave it there best with Jack being the only one who could make it out the back to catch a couple of good open faced waves. Afterwards I thought it would be cool to go wine tasting, it was the first time for all of them and they struggled to get there taste buds to adapt to the new flavors but all enjoyed experience something new.

Wednesday Gil and Luke woke up really early to head over to Simons Town to go on a shark cage diving tour with Chris, while Jake, matt and myself headed out for a surf. When they got back from their tour we all jumped into the car and headed to Table Mountain as it was a beautiful day to be exploring. Boys cruised up in 50min while Gil and I took in the scenery and got up 25min after them. As always its an amazing feeling to be so high up and take in the beauty, as we got to the bottom instead of sitting in traffic be thought we should treat ourselves to n ice cold half price beer at one of my favorite bars in town.

After a busy Wednesday we had a fun chilled surf and decided to head into town after for some lunch and a little bit of shopping at the Hurley sample sale. Headed back home for some dinner before putting on our dancing shoes and heading to town for a bit of a night out.

Late start for Friday but condition still ideal for the group, we headed out and got a good couple of waves. Matt,Gil and Luke really starting to show there improvement. While jack took it easy and road a longboard. Having a chilled afternoon and then heading to the Muizenberg Markets for some delicious food and local craft beer.

Saturday we  drove to Simons Town to go and check out my favorites creatures ever, PENGUINS! They are my all time favorites, the way the woddle and then glide so elegantly in the water. Gil got equally as excited as I was, and the boys tried to act as if we were a bit crazy but couldn’t deny how cute they really are.

Sunday we had a chilled day, waves had dropped off and made it easy for everyone to get out the back and get onto the open face of the wave. Followed up with a relaxing walk to kalk bay for lunch admiring the view and soaking up as much sun as possible. Listened to some live music before walking back home.

Monday everyone woke up feeling a bit sad as we had to say goodbye to Luke who did the 12 day surf camp but not without getting his last surf in before heading to the airport. The crew tried the hardest to all catch the same wave and had a bit of fun messing around. Chris came over to cook the guys an awesome curry for dinner, while everyone packed and got ready for our departure to Plettenberg bay the following day.

Keep posted for the video blog which will soon follow and the future adventures we will be on.
Cheers Nikita
