Here at the Ticket to Ride Surf School in Perranporth, introducing people to surfing in the most positive way possible is what gets us out of bed in the morning.
Surfing is what we live for and the fact the fact that we have the opportunity to pass this on to others and call it a job is amazing.
The fact that so many of our surfers return year on year is fantastic, it is always great to catch up with everyone one year on. It is also great to see how many new faces are coming down to see us ready to suit up, head down to the waters edge and get stuck in!!
The other thing that so many of our customers do when they have had a lesson is jump onto Trip Advisor and write a review.
Talking about what gets us up in the morning is one thing, reading these review last thing at night is another, we are over the moon about the kind of feedback that our customers feel that we deserve.
Our standards are high, however we are blown away by all the kind words that get published about the Ticket to Ride Surf School on Trip Advisor.
"Professional and Outstanding Fun!"
13 June 2012
I have attempted to surf with many surf schools in Cornwall and lost interest in most. Without sounding too cheesey Ticket to ride provides an experience rather than just a token lesson. We started off the day learning about the theory behind what we were going to practice out in the surf which covered everything from safety to how the weather has an affect on size and surf-ability of the waves etc. I felt completely safe at all times both in and out of the water. Having been an activities instructor both in this country and abroad I feel compelled to mention that my qualified coach Julian was exceptional. Having had a fear of water for many years, through his subtle techniques and obvious love for the sport I over came this in a matter of half an hour or so and gained a level of proficiency I never thought possible. When people tell you that you will be standing on the board after one lesson they really aren't joking!!
My parting impression of the day was that the school was also an integral part of the community as people who weren't even going out on a lesson popped into the school to have a chat with the coaches, ask their opinion on the conditions, check out "Magic Seaweed", watch one of the impressive surfers that are always showing on the tv or generally just chin wag. All of whom seemed genuinely happy that I was giving this prolific Cornish sport a good go. All in all a fabulous experience that will stay with me for a long time….Thanks guys!
