The best thing about the J-Bay Pro is that the infrastructure is so small that you are literally just standing watching a heat and Kelly or Parko or Taj will just come strolling down past you to surf their heat. They may even nod their head or say hi, and the next thing you are watching them as they get barrelled or do a huge carve 50 meters away from you as they head down the point. And then there's the surfing, J-Bay is the world's best pointbreak and watching the pros make it look so fun and easy is a humbling experience it its own. And did I mention it is in Africa? The people who were the most disappointed when the J-Bay Pro got taken off the world tour were the surfers, they love Jeffreys Bay and South Africa. I can't wait to see them back in action!
