Sri Lanka CrankingLife's good in Sri Lanka

When we say Sri Lanka’s cranking, I don’t mean 6ft mega barrels, I am referring to three weeks of perfect waves ranging from mellow point breaks to fun beaches and slightly gnarly reefs for our beginner and intermediate surfers on the East and West Coast.

Our first Sri Lanka trip for the season is sadly coming to an end, but it has been one of the the best trips to date with regards to waves for the Riders’ abilities. Istutti Sri Lanka. This combined with warm welcomes from our local compadres and hassle-free line-ups, not to mention the all time food and good vibes, means everyone is leaving gagging for more.

The whole crew have gelled fantastically (possibly due to the incredibly embarrassing first evening’s ice breaker exercises?) and I am stoked and as always slightly overwhelmed to have made a load more new surfing friends for life.

Surfing is a tricky activity to learn with some days being great and others straight up frustrating. Waves are relentless and they either gift us or pound us. But by abiding to the daily surfing schedule and attending the twice daily yoga classes, the whole crew’s patience with this uncompromising sport has grown impressively and in the short time we have spent together, I can honestly say everyone has surpassed my expectations and you should all be proud.

I’ll stop the heartfelt rambling now and portray the surfs we’ve had in photos. The photos are not of the greatest quality as we have a local legend snapping for us, which we use mainly for analysis, but they do give a great representation of what’s on offer surf-wise in this wave-rich island.

Thank you to everyone who has been a part of yet another great trip! NAMASTE
