If you’re reading this you’ll be aware that most Ticket to Ride customers are return riders or friends of those, which helps to make our trips especially epic.
Our staff and guests become friends with a shared love of the ocean. Business becomes personal.
We value this relationship and see our return riders as true stakeholders within Ticket to Ride, which is why we have decided to offer the opportunity to reap some financial benefit through your commitment to the company.
The offer is simple, if you refer someone to book a Ticket to Ride Trip or stay at the Sri Lanka Surf House, you will receive 10% of the sale price.
How would it qualify as a referral?
Your job is really recommending the trip to them, the bookings team would take over from there with the details. The person booking would use you as a reference on the booking form (if it is any booking other than a direct booking on the Surf House Website), but we will be reasonable (i.e. if the person forgets to put your name down), we of course want it to be organic and natural, and not come across as forced or a “hard sell”.
Keep the communication with us up, if you think you have encouraged someone onto a different course, then drop the bookings team a message so that we know to look out for it.
How will I be able to generate Referrals?
This is of course largely up to you, but we will provide you with a toolkit of marketing materials including branding, imagery and video and then between whatsapp and social media, you have options. The easiest way is to book yourself onto a TTR Trip then invite your friends, but you can even stand outside the tube station with a sign if you like!
A few tools we recommend you use:
- Whatsapp groups from any past trips you’ve been on to see if you can excite a little reunion
- Any surf groups that you are involved in are usually actively looking for at least one surf trip per year
- Direct whatsapp/instagram/facebook messages to people you think will be keen
- Instagram stories seems to work really well, just ask people to DM you for more info
We are always keen to grow the TTR community and know how involved you already are, so are hoping this will help motivate you to keep the good vibes coming and reward you for your efforts.
How much can I earn?
We’ve had previous customers turn this side hustle into a legitimate job as it can be lucrative but depends on how much you want to go for it. The commission will not be capped, so it’s up to you, and the more you put into it the more you will get out of it!
For example if you get someone to book a week in a private room in the Sri Lanka Surf House this season, the price is £973, your mate books and mentions your name, you receive £97.30. Easy.
If you get someone to book the South Africa & Mozambique 13 Adventure and Surf Instructor Course for September 2025, the price is £7,695. If your name is mentioned when making the booking, you get £769.50. Now we’re talking.
Volume of TTR trips
We aim to surf with 2,000 guests in 2024/25, at a 40% return client rate. On those numbers there is a huge opportunity for you to reap the benefits.
