Coffee bay has always had a very special place in my heart, its one of my all time happy places. So far away from the city, we drive about 4 hours from our previous stop and then another hour to drive towards the coast and beautiful rolling hills. There is something very beautiful about seeing nothing but vast ocean and rolling hills.
This being the 6 week trip, we got to stay in coffee bay for 5 nights. We arrived a little late on our first night, but had an awesome dinner from the beautiful ladies that work at coffee shack. We then woke up the next morning and went for a wave check with the very knowledgeable David Malherbie, who is a former ISA world champ. He went through the logistics of the spot and the dos and don'ts. The conditions weren't the easiest, with it being really big and messy most of the time we were there.
We did how ever do a lot of other things, we walked to Hole in the wall and saw a local fisherman catch a couple of huge fish. The guys got really into the drumming lessons and did it for a couple of hours, Charley and Chris were killing it. The group ended up getting sore hands from having so much fun on the drums.
The party scene never seems to let down in coffee bay either, with there always being a rad vibe and everyone keen to enjoy the chilled environment. Coffee bay has always had a special place for me and I think it will always a special place in my heart.
I'm already excited to get there for the next trip!

Coffee is always a favourite stop on the trip, and despite huge swell we had a great time drumming and exploring the local area.
