This is a rare opportunity to meet with Ticket to Ride’s Head of Operations in London and find out more about our incredible surf instructor courses and adventures from the main man in the know. Hailing from South Africa, Chris Bond, has been part of the Ticket to Ride story from the very beginning – running the first 10 week course there in January 2007, alongside founders, Will Hayler and Linley Lewis, and good friend Tim Conibear.
Chris grew up in Cape Town, South Africa, started surfing at 8 and immediately became addicted to the sport. Growing up he continued with his passion for surfing, skating and other watersports, before competing in local contests in South Africa. This led to him repeatedly competing for his region at the South African champs, and later winning the SA University champ title.
During his gap year in 2005 he went to Newquay in search of qualifications and to follow a new passion – surf coaching. He completed his BSA Level 1 and got a job at the BSA surf school for the season, before completing his BSA Level 2 course at the end of the season. Chris has a wealth of surf coaching experience and has even coached some of the top young juniors in South Africa. With guidance from him both in and out of the water, your surfing will reach new levels whether you’re an experienced surfer or a complete beginner.
From 2007 – 2009 whilst studying at the University of Cape Town, Chris continued running trips during his holidays, before taking on a full-time role running Ticket to Ride trips in 2010. He has organised and overseen all of the South Africa and Mozambique trips, as well as run the Costa Rica and Indonesian surf adventures. He’s also done his stint at the Ticket to Ride headquarters in Exeter, so knows the trips and you, the customer, better than anyone.
So if you’ve had South Africa’s world class waves on your mind for a while now or been dreaming about island hopping around Indonesia, then come and chat to a Ticket to Ride surfing expert in London this Saturday 19 December.
