On August 1st, we are excited to re-open the doors to our Meribel Mountain Lodge. The lifts have been in full swing since July 4th, elevating high into the peaks so you can hike, bike, or enjoy the infamous Tour de France in September.

We have experienced unprecedented changes in the last few months, it’s been tough, but the longing for adventure is the reason why we want to open the doors of the Lodge, to bring back the stoke and share the mountain with you. We want to go ahead and offer you the usual Ticket to Ride welcome, with all the necessary precautions in place to make your stay safe and enjoyable.

Are you wondering what life is like in Meribel at the moment? Well, it’s pretty dreamy to be honest. For those of you that have only experienced an Alpine winter…then you should really get a taste for the summer here as it’s as good, if not better. The lifts are open daily, so I’ve been having a blast on the bike with my mates. The trails are in really good condition and it’s a casual 25-35 degrees most days, the ideal temperature for a swim in the local lakes after a good walk. There are a few specs of snow up at the peaks, but it’s mainly luscious green, flowers in full bloom, and wildlife thriving in all corners.

Meribel itself is bustling, with restaurants and bars both in the town and on the mountain very busy. Lodge du Village, Jacks and the Tav have a buzzing atmosphere, to the lovely soundtrack of many local musicians who take the stage various nights of the week. There’s more Tour de France additions – Meribel logos on the road for the drone cams, removal of speed bumps in the town center, and lots of sculptures dressing the road in preparation for the Tour mid September.

As far as day to day life here, you can’t get far without a mask. It’s a legal requirement in all indoor public areas, therefore in order to enter a restaurant, the post office, any toilet, or access the lifts, a mask is mandatory. Hand sanitizer and social distancing barriers are in place throughout, but aside from this, it’s very much business as usual here.

Rest assured, we are very much aware of the current pandemic that has no doubt reshaped all of our lives. The safety of you and our staff is paramount. We’re monitoring the current climate as advised by the World Health Organisation and local restrictions in the UK, France, and beyond.
