What is a Ski Performance Course?
Ticket to Ride has been hosting ski performance courses for over 8 years now, and in short, they are a fantastic way to take your skiing to the next level, through focussed and considered coaching over a week long period, or longer.
It is a fully inclusive package meaning that all the elements of a trip to the mountains are tied together. We arrange your airport transfer, ski lift pass, accommodation, meals and ski coaching, meaning that all you have to do is focus on your on snow performance!
Who delivers the coaching?
The course will be delivered by Nick. Nick is a director and founding member of Marmalade Ski School. His experience even before then saw him teaching and coaching across the globe in Canada, New Zealand, Australia and Andorra before finally settling into the rhythm of teaching here in Meribel since the early 2000’s.
Nick holds a fantastic depth of ski knowledge and knows how to make a pair of ski’s perform most efficiently. His local knowledge and history here in the 3 Valleys ensures that he will find the best spots to achieve the day’s goal. Finally, his approach to teaching is to keep things challenging and interesting yet fun and accessible.
What sort of feedback can I expect to receive?
You can expect to receive individualised and quality feedback. Feedback which is aimed to bring out the best in your skiing.
Feedback will be used on the hill whether we are: attempting something new for the first time; practising particular skills and drills which benefit our skiing; and even when we think we’ve mastered it you will find that feedback is with you in some form or other. The feedback will be there to introduce, explain and demonstrate new thoughts, ideas, techniques and tactics. It will be used to keep you on the right track to awesomeness!
Feedback will also be given during off-snow sessions. Away from the hill we can look at video taken on that day or further discuss or explain the tasks, goals, sensations and information that is given.

Will I receive any video analysis?
Yes. Video analysis is a fantastic tool to really get in tune with what you are trying to achieve and often what you are actually achieving. It will used during training to bring you a heightened sense of awareness of what you are doing and how it can be improved.
All skiers will be accommodated in the new TTR Mountain Lodge, which houses its own Media room, meaning that the video feedback will be focussed dedicated feedback away from the noise of a busy area. Just the group and your instructor in a private room, with a widescreen Apple TV allowing you to absorb the knowledge from the comfort of your sofa.
How good a skier do I need to be?
Our 3 week performance course caters for intermediates upwards, and we also have week long ski camps suitable for beginner to expert.Have a read of our infographic to work out where you lie.
Where do I stay?
All of the TTR Performance Courses are housed at the newly refurnished Ticket to Ride Mountain Lodge, an 8 ensuite bedroom chalet in the centre of Meribel. Boasting a range of twins and triple rooms the chalet can sleep a maximum of 20 people. Breakfasts and afternoon tea are served daily, and a two course evening meal served 6 nights a week. The chalet also has an in house bar enabling you to purchase drinks on site.
Did we also mention the chalet has a sauna, and also has a hot tun on the balcony?
Why is Meribel the best place to ski?
Location, location, location! Meribel is very much at the heart of the 3 Valleys.
As a standalone resort it possesses some of the highest calibre skiing in the Alps via its groomed runs, mogul fields, trees, off pistes couloirs, bowls and fields. It also has some pretty tasty neighbours too.
With all the resorts in the Courchevel and Belleville valleys right on our doorstep there is never a shortage of fresh groomed runs, fields of off-piste snow, new routes to take, new challenges to accept or different views to admire.
The 3 Valleys is probably the best resort in the world – it’s massive, it’s incredibly varied, it’s challenging, it’s accessible and it’s reputation speaks for itself. Meribel is the heart of soul of it.
How long are the courses?
The Performance Courses are 3 weeks long enabling optimum progression. If you do not have 3 weeks spare then you may prefer to consider one of our shorter ski camps.
How much does the course cost and what is included?
The 3 Week performance courses starts at £3,595, and includes:

- 5 x 4 Hours Days of Coaching – Total of 20 Hours/week – 60 Hours during the 3 weeks *
- 21 Nights Catered Accommodation in a shared room in TTR Mountain Lodge (single room available too for an additional fee of £280 per week)
- 6 Days of Cooked breakfast, Afternoon Tea and 2-course dinner with wine per week. Wednesday is the staff day off, with self-service breakfast and a chance for you to eat out in the evening.

* – Please note that the 20 hours of tuition a week is based on a 6:1 student to instructor ratio. If there is a group of 4 or less, the hours of tuition will drop to 16 hours a week to reflect the increased focus of the instructor on the students.
