Hello again from Mozambique!

We are on our final day today in Tofo then off to Ponta du Ouro for our final stop.

We have been surfing pretty much everyday for the past week, testing their skills on the right point break in the morning and then the playful beach break of Dinos after lunch.

There have however been a few days when the surfing Gods haven’t delivered. No problem here though as the atmosphere is so relaxed and we are all happy to sit back relax in the hammock and get some chillaxing done, plus a well deserved rest before the new swell hits us this afternoon.

We also used our lay days to visit Inhambane and the nearby Mangroves. Inhambane is a town close by where we took advantage of the markets and a much needed pizza from one of the many local cafés! The Mangroves were the complete polar opposite. With endless beaches and not a person in sight, it was the perfect location for a game of beach bowls (basically throwing rocks at an even bigger rock).

We are are free to do as we please in Mozambique, Paul has headed down to the local dive centers to go Scuba Diving at one of the many dive sites in the area. He was taken to Manta Reef where was lucky enough to see much of Mozambique’s underwater wildlife. Whilst this was going on the rest of us joined in on a Yoga session ran by our trip leader Ryan, which although painful at the time, was sure to reap the benefits in the water…..

When you see thirty dolphins surfing in the waves as you paddle out for your first wave you know it’s going to be an awesome day. Brilliant surf mixed with hundreds of whales ridiculously close to the shore…what more could you want-possible to swim with a whale shark in the lineup; yep we got that too!

Had some great weather and solid waves, no crowds and a beautiful backdrop of Tofo point. Really relaxed vibe and slow pace of life, couldn’t be further from home and I’m absolutely loving it.

Idyllic location and great waves. Our surfing has quickly improved whilst surrounded by humpbacks, dolphins and whale sharks. You can’t really ask for much more. Also had the opportunity to dive some of Tofo’s reefs, seeing rays and listening to the humpbacks sing underwater. Pretty epic so far.

Mozambique has been an incredible experience so far. Lots of sunshine surf and time to relax, it’s been the perfect way to finish off my 9 week trip.

So that's the round up folk – we really are living the African Surfing Dream!!

Till next time
