So is everyone enjoying this heat wave that has gripped the UK at the moment?
It’s been a great start to the season so far, we can safely say that winter is just a distant memory. Packed and stored away are the winter wetsuits, boots and gloves eventually the sea temperatures rise and putting on a 3/2mm wetsuit feels amazing so light and flexible……..ah we love Summer.
It’s been a great start to the season so far it’s really great seeing some familiar and also new faces coming to our surf school in Perranporth. We have a great team on board for you this year and we are bubbling with enthusiasm to get you guys doing what we do best, sharing our stoke for surfing. It doesn’t matter if it’s your first ever time in the water or are a seasoned pro we can accommodate you to your level of ability. Just come down and enjoy what Ticket to Ride Surf School can offer you.
We have teamed up with The Seiners Arms next door to the Surf School so you can relax and grab a bite to eat and something to drink knowing that you are only a stone’s throw away from the surf school and beautiful beach. And new for 2013 we are able to offer surf and stay packages at great rates where you can take full advantage of what Perranporth has to offer and make a full holiday/ weekend from your stay. This is a really great package for those wanting to really get to grips with surfing and enjoy the luxuries of home away from home.
Just recently we sponsored the Mision Mexico (And yes that is how you spell it) you can check them out on here. They are a charity that raises money for Mexican children who are born into a life of abuse or face life on the street. There comfort and escapism is Surfing (As it is for so many of us). So recently Mision Mexico sent down a team whom myself and big wave pro surfer Andrew Cotton had the pleasure of teaching. The whole weekend was a lot of fun and it was nice to share a little bit of surf magic with these guys. The event stretched into The Seiners Arms for a preview of the Award Winning DVD “Somewhere near Tapachula” followed by a raffle with some fab prizes, Mexican Cornish pasties!! And prizes for best moustache and sombrero. It was a lot of fun.
Summer wouldn’t be complete without the Sunday Sessions and they are back in full force at the Seiners Arms taking place on the back terrace overlooking the beach. This is where all the local talent showcase their skills many recently back from Glastonbury, this looks set to be just as successful as last year and something we are very excited about.
Just one more of the many reasons why you need to come and visit and give yourself some much needed down time and some surfing therapy. Come on you owe it to yourself.
Until then whatever your doing keep enjoying this glorious weather.
See you soon
