There are countless people around the world who want to make their favourite pass time their dream job and Lucy Johnson has turned this into a reality with Ticket to Ride Worldwide Surfing Adventures.
Lucy completed our 13 week South Africa & Mozambique Adventure in January 2013 having Surfed on and off in Cornwall since she was 12. Starting her adventure in Cape Town, Lucy then travelled through 7 unique stops before completing her adventure in the tropical paradise that is Mozambique.
Lucy chose Ticket to Ride as it gave her the opportunity to experience one of the worlds top rated Surf destinations whilst being guided by her professional trip leaders Klee Strachan and Nikita Robb while sharing the whole experience with new found friends from different backgrounds. “I got to visit a country that exceeded my expectations, it was very beautiful and each day fascinated me in the things that I did”
Lucy got involved with all the exciting Ticket to Ride Trip Extras and enjoyed her community work experience with the Supertubes Foundation in Jeffrey’s Bay quoting “I thought it was an amazing way to recycle and taught some good life lessons for the kids in the Townships, which was nice to be involved in”
We offer all Riders the chance to complete their Surf Coaching and lifeguard qualifications in South Africa and Lucy took full advantage of this opportunity. She passed both qualifications in Durban before heading into Mozambique and went on to complete her coaching hours at the Ticket to Ride Surf School in Perranporth, Cornwall. She has since gone on to secure herself a dream job in the Algarve, Portugal coaching Surfing at some of Europe’s best Surf spots.
