The weather can be as wild as the animals in Africa, huge storms and wild seas presented themselves this last week in East London. It didn’t put a damper on surfing, the group managed to push their boundaries and surf some very testing conditions. Sophie and Dries really should there determination at this spot, catching bog waves and taking solid beat downs and always coming up with a smile.
East London is a perfect destination to get a lot of swim training at the Joan Harrison out door 50meter swimming pool, great for getting the group fit and ready for there instructor course.
As a reward we went to the very famous Friesland milkshake shop for a treat. It is a must when either staying for just simply driving through
As the weather wasn’t that great we did some different activities, went on a awesome walk along the famous Nahoon Beach and Reef. Showing the group where I grew up surfing and all my favorite surf spots. East London is so known for its surfing that it has a little surfing museum, it has Andrew carter’s shark attack survive surf board and is also great to learn about the rock formation of the area.
We also had a movie afternoon, majority of the group managed to watch really good movies but myself and SJ, choose a horrible movie resulting in myself sleeping for the most part.
Loads of excitement as we arrived in Coffee Bay, blessed with a day of amazing surfing.
