Another week has raced by in South African Road Trip<\/a>. \u00a0Even in such a short amount of time,\u00a0we’ve seen major improvements in fitness and surfing ability.<\/p>\n

Nonetheless, no matter how fit you are, a big part of learning to surf is working with the right equipment. \u00a0This week, Chris Bond did a thorough breakdown on surfboard design and its evolution over the years. \u00a0For our guys, this gave them valuable insight into equipment selection. After 10 days of trying \u00a0the incredible rental range at Lifestyle Surf shop<\/a>, everybody was ready to purchase their own boards\u00a0that they’ll use for the rest of the trip.<\/p>\n

However, the boards would have to wait before their first use.\u00a0 A week of surfing has started\u00a0to take it’s toll so we took some time out to see some more of what Cape Town has to offer. \u00a0Naturally, a trip to Cape Town wouldn’t be the same without visiting the African Penguin colony near Simons Town.<\/p>\n

As well as its wildlife, South Africa is also famous\u00a0internationally for its wines. We visited one of the oldest vineyards in the country for wine and chocolate tasting.<\/p>\n

In addition, we also enjoyed a few nights out on the town together as a group. These included a Karaoke evening at the infamous Brass Bell<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0a night out in Cape Town’s city centre.<\/p>\n

To conclude, we’ve made our way up to our to our first stop on the East Coast,\u00a0Plettenberg Bay<\/a>. Thanks to everybody in Cape Town who made our stay as enjoyable as it was and a massive shout-out to\u00a0African Soul Surfer<\/a>\u00a0for hosting us so well!<\/p>\n
