Hope you enjoyed that last little video, we are back to the here and now and got lots of photos of a great day\/adventure. We have had a great last few days here in Santa Teresa and time seems to fly by faster and faster! Everyone’s surfing is improving really nicely and we have had some good waves too.<\/p>\n

As per usual being back in Santa Teresa means yoga, surfing and Spanish lessons are the order of the week. The yoga with Linnea has been really inspirational and everyone has really loved it and got into it. When you are in a place like this yoga seems especially natural and necessary, and the opportunity to both work with your body and to focus your mind leaves you feeling great and prepared for anything! Linnea has been focussing each session on something completely different so there is no chance of us just doing it mindlessly and it is always a challenge. She makes it especially surf-specific which makes it more interesting as well.<\/p>\n

We had a great day out to Cobuya as well. It is about an hour’s drive away, with several great attractions. The drive itself is unbelievably scenic as you weave your way through the jungle and across shallow riverbeds. The first attraction was a massive fig-tree. All the trees here in Costa Rica are large, but this one stands out, as you will see in the photos. From there we went on to a surf spot in Cobuya. The sun was scorching hot and perfect two foot lefts were peeling through. Whilst there was apprehension initially once we actually saw someone on a wave we were quick to take the boards off the roof and get in the water. Whilst everyone got some great rides George was the one on the ‘bombs’. Every time a set came through George seemed to be in the perfect place almost like an experienced local! Caroline got her best wave of the trip and Anni caught loads of good long ones too. Once we had all had our fair share of waves we stacked the boards back on the roof and headed onto our next stop, the waterfall.<\/p>\n

Justin, our guide for the day, chose the ‘hardcore’ route to the waterfall and it was lots of fun. The walk alone was great as we wove our way up the river and through the mud. When we got there it was truly spectacular. A massive waterfall with huge trees around and a light ‘rain’ of spray everywhere. With lots of rain the night before the rocks alongside the waterfall were quite difficult to climb to jump off but we could get up to one of the lower ‘platforms’ to jump into the bubbling broth. Josh did a great dive in from it too. Going behind the waterfall was amazing with wind going back up and foam just floating mid air. From there we moved up to another waterfall exactly above the original big one. This one was much smaller, around 35 feet, and meant that we could jump from the top which was fun, with a bit of added fear that you might float down and go off the big one! Josh did a dive that unfortunately didn’t go so well and turned into the best backflop I have had the privilege of witnessing. Caroline stepped off fearlessly which was quite impressive too. It was a great day all-round and was capped off with amazing food overlooking the sea.<\/p>\n
