Well we are finally here, the end of the tip. The past 6 weeks have just flown past and i cant quite believe that tomorrow i will be catching the bus down to San Jose with the group and on Tuesday i will be waving them all off at the airport. The past week has been absolute jam packed with surf lessons, snorkelling trip, visit to the local school and more Spanish lessons to name but a few.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday we made our way down to Mal Pais to a beautiful little beach with a shallow reef for some snorkelling. It was a beautiful day but unfortunately the snorkelling wasn't too successful as due to certain conditions the water wasn't very clear. We therefore amused ourselves with some grown up activities wonderfully demonstrated by Claire and Phil of "who can dig the deepest hole". You would be amazed at how much fun this activity is (photographic evidence is displayed above). After a few hours of sun bathing, shell collecting, snorkelling and…hole digging, we headed back in Santa Teresa to prepare for another surf lesson, all in all a great day all round!<\/p>\n

This week while the group have been in their surf lessons i have been watching from the beach and filming the action in the water. It is sometimes difficult to realise what you are doing in the water in regards to your positioning on your board\/positioning on the wave etc, so an effective method in surf coaching is to see yourself on video. Today George and myself gathered everyone for the final feedback session and some video analysis, it was great to see everyone's efforts, improvement and wipe outs on the big screen. I felt very proud as i was reminded of the the groups development and how much they have learnt over the past 6 weeks. It was clear that everyone has improved over their time in Costa Rica and watching the video Peace was a shining example. In the first few weeks with Peace she was nervous to push past the white water in the shallows, how things have changed as we watched her catch green waves from out back dominating them with no fear in her face what so ever, she along with the rest of the group should be ever proud of themselves for all their efforts and improvement.<\/p>\n

As all the group go their separate ways when they return to the UK i will look forward to meeting up with everyone again for weekend surf trips and reunions down in Cornwall. Ticket to Ride are having a rider day down in Perranporth on the 5th of September so it will be a great opportunity for the group to meet up again and go for a surf together!<\/p>\n

I have just left the group up at funky monkeys doing some packing and im about to head back up there to distract them…and make sure they have packed their passports so there are no stow aways. I will be back with an update when i have waved the group off at San Jose.<\/p>\n
