Hi all and welcome to Cintsa!! We’re at stop number 4 already, can you believe how the time has flown by! It was sad to wave goodbye to all our new friends in J-Bay, but we’re definitely looking forward to the next week here in Cintsa.<\/p>\n

On Sunday we all went our for a game drive at the nearby Addo Elephant National Park. It was a particularly exciting excursion for me as I just love game driving!! We were quite fortunate with our finds as well. While, of the big 5 we only saw elephants, we spotted a number of rarer finds as well, such as Black-backed Jackal, Yellow Mongooses and a Pale Chanting Goshawk. We had some lunch in the restaurant before heading back to J-Bay via the back roads so that we could stop and check out a few of the places along the way.<\/p>\n

On Monday we rejoined Etienne at St Francis Bay, home of the world famous Bruces Beauties – a legendary wave that has since been destroyed by modern development. While it’s not what it used to be, it’s still a great wave and our guys headed out to the section at the bottom of the point. The waves were mellow and clean and very consistent so there were loads of rides on offer.<\/p>\n

In the afternoon we met up with Alison again from the Supertubes Foundation to help out with another of the projects they’ve got set up with the local schools. This one is aimed at getting the kids into recycling. Children from the school go out and collect recyclable waste and bring it into the project station. There the rubbish is sorted and weighed. The child then receives tokens according to the weight collected, which they can remunerate for different goodies at the shop. The project attracts loads of interest so we were kept very busy facilitating for the day. In the end we collected close on 2 tons of recyclable waste. Not bad for a day’s work.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday we were back in St Francis Bay for our last lesson with Etienne. The waves weren’t amazing, but there were still a few fun ones out there. In the afternoon we packed for the long drive ahead and said our goodbyes to everyone at Island Vibe.<\/p>\n

Yesterday we made the journey across the Eastern Cape to Cintsa where we will be spending the next week on tour. The group has just settled in and taken some time to get familiar with our new surroundings before we get things kicked off today.<\/p>\n
