Wednesday 20th<\/sup> February
\nHi guys it is Wednesday here in tranquil J-Bay. We woke up to some winter weather, but with the weather came the waves and the famous Supertubes was doing its thing. Nikita and myself had two amazing surfs, early morning and late evening while a few of the crew got to watch the world’s best pointbreak. The guys went out at kitchen windows, which was the biggest we’d had it and long walls rolling in with perfect rides. We had lunch in town and then came back home for an afternoon surf. We ended the day with some tasty pizzas at island vibe.
\n 
\nOn Thursday the group had a surf lesson with Etienne. Seeing as the group is split in two for their lessons we did training with the one group that weren't surfing and alternated. It was a great warm up to the water fall and zip line which I really enjoyed, and was fun to do on my birthday. That night Island Vibe organised a dress up party and we had some celebratory beers beers. The theme was superheros and villains, and everyone joined in, got dressed up and had a great party.
\n 
\nIn j-bay there are two large townships next to the Town so we always try and help out doing some work in the community. So on Friday we went to a local day care called Mommy's Daycare.  Ticket to Ride has helped out here many times in the past, and this time it needed to be repainted and we obliged. The little kids were really stoked with the new look to their daycare and the group all had fun helping out. We said our good byes and went back to Island Vibe for lunch and an afternoon surf.

\nOn Saturday we woke up to small surf, so we went to Mikey Meyer's surfboard factory. Mikey is a really well known shaper in South Africa and has spent a lot of time overseas shaping surfboards. He showed the group the stages of how surfboards are made and all the materials that are used to make a board and we even got to see him doing some shaping. The group really enjoyed learning more about these things that bring us so much joy, and Nick can’t wait to get his custom made Mikey Meyer this week. We then had lunch after and got home to the surf pumping. The boys were ripping and girls showed them that they know how to rip as well.

\nSo we have been in j-bay for 10 days now, and the surf was once again fun and clean. Nikita, Sarah, Lucy, Nick, Tom, Alex and Matt all went for a 5:30am surf and watched the sunrise; there is something that is really special about watching the sunrise while surfing that words can't describe. The rest of the crew got out there a bit later and had some good rides. Ronan and George were shredding.

\nMonday we took a drive to St Francis Bay, which was featured in the famous surf movies Endless Summer 1 and 2. St Francis has some amazing waves on offer and usually uncrowded. The surf was unfortunately not at its best, yet it was fun and the group had it all to themselves. We then went and had a pie at Vikings bakery; they make amazing pies and are always on the cards when you go to St Francis.

\nOn Tuesday we were off to East London our next stop on the trip. We stay in Chintsa, which is around 20 mins north of East London's town centre. We arrived to dinner in Chintsa and went to bed early, as everyone was amped to get in the water on the next day. East London is going to be an epic week and it's looking like there is swell coming! Being Nikita’s hometown she knows every nook and crannie and will always make sure we are at the best surf spot.
