Sometimes it is hard to know where to begin, but that is where we come in!
If you are not sure where to start on your pathway to becoming a ski God, then this trip is for you! Come out at the start of the season in beautiful Meribel, quickly get the bug for skiing (as we know you will) and then have the rest of the season to be able to organise another trip and keep the dream going!
We can make your first experience on a ski enjoyable as part of a friendly group to share the hilarious falls and triumphant first turns!
What to Expect
We want to take the hassle away from organising your first ski trip! It can be unnerving not knowing what to expect or things you need to organise but we have years of experience running camps and holidays for people in Meribel so we can help!
The Chalet - New TTR Mountain Lodge
We are excited to launch the New Ticket to Ride Mountain Lodge in Meribel Centre for the 2019/20 Season. With a capacity of up to 20 people spread between Twin, Double and Triple En Suite rooms, this Chalet is perfect for solo travelers or large groups. Offering an excellent 2-course menu served on its large tables, guests from all walks of life can share stories of their great day on the mountain. The Chalet has a large south facing terrace with a hot tub overlooking the mountains, as well as a Sauna in the lower levels of the building. If you're not socializing in the open plan Dining and Living Room area, kick back and relax in the media room which is kitted out with a large wrap around sofa, Widescreen TV, Apple TV, and Sound System.
Single Room upgrades are available on a first come, first serve basis. Please inquire upon booking.

We'll be serving up hot cooked breakfasts each morning and then presenting a 2-course meal of energy filled healthy dinners. The chalet staff have Wednesday off, where you'll have a self service breakfast and get the chance to sample one of the many great local restaurants. Dietary requirements are not a problem, we only ask for this information to be highlighted during the booking stage.
- Catered accommodation in a shared room in the TTR Mountain Lodge (single room available too for an additional fee of £280 for the week)
- 6 Days of Cooked breakfast and 2-course dinner. Wednesday is the staff day off, with self-service breakfast and a chance for you to sample the tasty local restaurants in the evening.
- 6 Day Meribel Lift Pass
- Group Ski lessons from Mon-Fri (2 hrs of lessons a day)
- Snowboard & boots hire
- Return transfers from Geneva airport on set group transfer (leaving GVA at 15:00 on 7th and arriving GVA at 11:00 on 14th Dec)
All you would need to do would be to book flights and organize travel insurance.
Here you'll find a day by day breakdown of your course.
Arrival Day Saturday 7th Dec
Arrive at Geneva before the group transfer leaves at 15:00. Travel to Meribel (around 2.5hrs in the minibus) and get settled into your rooms at the TTR Mountain Lodge. Have a few welcome beers, and then dinner will be served around 19:30.
Your first Ski Day
There will be time in the morning to go down together to the hire shop and pick up skis and boots. Then your first lesson will start at 11:30 with Marmalade ski school. You'll be in safe hands with them! Then if you have any energy left, you can have some time to practice your new skills in the afternoon.
The Weeks structure
Each morning you will have a 2 hour lesson to work on your skills, and then free time in the afternoon to practice and start exploring the Three Valleys by yourselves.
Final Day on the Slopes
On Fri 13th you will have a final day on the slopes with no lessons, so a whole day to really show off what you have learnt, go further afield in the ski area and push yourselves to your limits of this first week. In the evening we will have a final meal altogether and make plans to meet up again maybe!
Departure Day Saturday 14th Dec
The group transfer will leave the TTR Mountain Lodge at 10:00 after breakfast and get to Geneva by around 13:00. Book flights for after 15:00 to be safe.
This trip is aimed at those who have never skied before but would also suit those who feel they would benefit from beginner lessons even if they have skied a little before - to rebuild confidence or go back to basics so you can progress further. Others can join us in the accommodation this week too if you have a friend or partner who doesn't need lessons. Contact us for more information.
There are limited single room upgrades available to individuals on this trip for an additional fee of £280. For this price, you will have a Double Bed and En Suite room all to yourself. Contact us for availability & information.
We use a good ski shop near to the Chalet, so you can walk down when you arrive and get your boots and gear fitted. The snowboards are generally in very good condition, especially at the start of the season when you are there!
Contact us if you are unsure of the equipment or clothing you need and we can give you a kit list to guide you. Nowadays ski gear does not need to be expensive with cheaper providers such as Decathlon, Mountain Warehouse, TK Maxx and Go Outdoors all providing decent gear. We would definitely recommend a helmet and goggles for learning.
There will be a maximum of 8 on this course.
As part of this course, we will be including a transfer departing from Geneva Airport at 15:00 on the start date. Therefore, ensure that your arrival time is no later than 14:30 in order to make the transfer to Meribel. On the return, we will include a transfer to Geneva Airport departing from the chalet at 10:00 on the final day of your camp. The average transfer time is 3 hours and check in 2 hours, therefore you should book your departure flight from 15:00.
If your arrival or departure flights fall outside our free transfer times, then get in touch and we may be able to organise a private transfer for you on request at an additional cost, subject to availability.
Again, if you are planning on coming out earlier or staying on afterwards, please note that you will have to arrange your airport transfers at your own expense.
