Hasta Luego Costa Rica

Like all good things, our 2016 Costa Rica trip has sadly come to an end and the 100% Pura Vida, or “pure life” we all felt made it the best trip yet.

We run the Costa Rica trip in Santa Teresa, part of the Nicoya Peninsular which is recognized as one of only 5 ‘Blue Zones’ in the world. This means that the locals live longer, healthier, happier lives which is complimented by the ‘Pura Vida’ lifestyle; a welcome break from normal day to day life and a truly ideal pace where you can appreciate how beautiful life can be.

Pura Vida is all about love; love to the land, the ocean, your environment, yourself and the people and in Costa Rica there’s a lot of love.

As well as a lot of love, there’s a lot of incredible food. The history of Caribbean and Latin influences combined with the country’s natural treasures means that local dishes are delicious yet simple and traveler-budget friendly.

Think the freshest fish caught straight from the ocean, organic local produce growing around your head and Costa Rican Coffee is the best in the world. It is also complimentary all morning, which fuelled the couple of surfs before lunch.

The waves are also amongst the best and most consistent in the World. Costa Rica is right by the Equator and is vulnerably open to the Pacific Ocean, which means swells from both the Northern Hemisphere (November – March), and the Southern Hemisphere (pretty much year-round).

We didn’t have one flat day and it was perfectly offshore every morning.

But it wasn’t the breakfast burritos, the pumping surf or the legendary locals that made the trip epic, it was you; the riders.

So to the whole Costa Rica 2016 crew MUCHOS GRACIAS for joining us, looking forward to sharing more waves with you in the near future, pura vida amigos!
