It feels like 2016 has been a pretty epic year and a complete horror show on the flip side. Without lowlights, how can we have highlights?

I’m sure I was not alone in grieving for people I never met or even remotely knew this year. Revered individuals who have had as much of a profound influence on my life as some of the people I know best – Prince, Bowie, Rickman, Ali, Cohen, Wogan, Cruyff, Wilder – people I have listened to, watched, been inspired by – and that does not even scratch the surface… the refugees dying looking for a better life, the innocents in Aleppo, the countless good people cut short by disease, misfortune and circumstance and don’t even start on the Brexit-Trump combo.
Yeah … 2016 has been pretty special. So what is the point of all this stirring up of sadness? Simple … the reason we don’t just end it all right now is that there is more good than bad, more love than hate, more light than darkness and more adventures ahead. Why do we miss people when they are gone? Because they made the world, our world, better when they were here… and now that responsibility falls to us – fill your world, the world of others with excitement, passion, laughter, love and memories to cherish and miss when the time comes.
That’s what made my own 2016 pretty special – the people – the Wavelength team, the Ticket to Ride crew – the guests and friends who shared waves, laughs, experiences, tears, days and nights out and about – moments – UK, France, Portugal, Spain – Planes, Trains, Automobiles and Fiberglass slippers … that and my family – being here, watching them grow, evolve and become ever more entwined with my being.
Blink and you miss it – keep your eyes open – see you in 2017!
