Bom dia from Paradise
Good day everyone, we have been in Mozambique (Tofo) for a week now. It’s been an amazing stay and has done nothing but provided us with beautiful weather and loads of fun. We have had Tofino point super fun, 2-3 foot pretty much every day.
The guys took a few surfs to get into the right hand point break, but are now all over it. Nicola has been getting some really great rides and on days giving the boys a run for their money, catching loads of waves and being the last one in the water. She has really improved over the past few weeks and you can see that all that time in the water does really pay off.
Chris has been shredding the point and beach break. The point is on his backhand which makes it testing as he has his back towards the wave, but that hasn’t stopped him from taking off on some decent size waves. Manuela and Josh are also goofy footers like Chris and also have taken some time to get into the point, but have been trying hard and getting their fair share of rides (goofy footed = standing on a board with right foot forward).
Nikita and myself love coming up to this end of the trip, it’s a stop that offers so much growth for your surfing and a great place to just relax, surf loads and soak in an amzing African lifestyle.
There are the most amazing sunsets over the mangroves in Tofo and sunrises over the ocean. It has been 24 degrees and higher everyday and everyone has been on the ball with drinking loads of water and applying sun cream all day. You can easily forget as its just fun and games all day, playing in the waves, meeting new people from all over the world, throwing a ball on the beach and in the sea, going for runs and swimming in the tropical crystal blue ocean. We have had a couple days that we just went down to the beach and relaxed. You have local people always saying hi and asking you how you are. There is loads of local jewelry and hand made clothes and bags on offer at a steal price, bartering is always on the cards, and swopping your flip-flops or boardies too.
We have been into Inhambane town to get some cash and get some waters and other food merchandise. Turtle cove makes some of the best food in town, from local foods to seafood and your hamburgers and pastas.
On Monday we did an ocean safari, the sea conditions were perfect. We headed out at Tofino beach and headed towards Praia Du Rocha. It was an awesome boat ride and we were blessed to see two big pods of spinner dolphins, the skipper on the boat positions you in front of the pod and you hop off with your flipper and snorkel. We got some good view of the dolphins and the crew was very stoked. We hopped off at one of the deep reefs to have a look at the reef. The water was super warm and the safari was mesmerizing as we got to see so many dolphins. We are looking forward to our last few days in Tofo and more adventures are bound to come along in this amazing destination.

Nicola: Yeah, Tofo has been amazing. The waves have been killer and the water has been so warm at 26 C. We have all caught some awesome waves especially at the point. One day the waves were breaking right on the reef, it was kind of scary, but really fun. Definitely one of the best stops on the trip!
