Hone your logging skills by surfing SW Sri Lanka's best longboard waves, with professional coaching from Ex-WCT Competitor Nikita Robb and Kelly Winter.
We have teamed up with a couple of the best longboarders and coaches in the country, to offer a week long longboard surf clinic in South West Sri Lanka.
The week will include intensive surf coaching from professional surf coach and ex-wct competitor Nikita Robb, with support from Australia's finest Kelly Winter, who will also be delivering the surf specific yoga class, all fuelled by delicious and healthy Sri Lankan cuisine.
Surfers must be able to take off both ways on a wave in order to join the trip. You should also be eager to receive feedback via video coaching, as well as other tips and techniques to take their surfing to the next level. If you are up for it, you can expect your logging game to seriously step up.
The week will be capped at 15 Loggers and you must bring your own board.
What to Expect
Expect to learn more about how to handle your longboard in a week than you would in a year. If you have profficient controlon your board, you will learn the fundamentals such as cutbacks, cross-stepping and (hopefully) the hang five!
The week includes the following:
- 7 nights accommodation in either single, twin, double or triple room (first come first served)
- Pre surf coffee and fruit
- Daily breakfast
- 5 x evening meals
- 5 day longboard surf course
- Surf specific yoga classes
- Tuk Tuk transport to the best beaches

Welcome to Sri Lanka! You will be greeted with a cold coconut (or beer depending on what time it is!), settle into your room, meet the coaches and have your first Sri Lankan currry before an early night and early start the following morning.
Surf, Surf, Surf!
The course kicks off on the Sunday at 6am with coffee and fruit, followed by your first surf coaching session, back to the house for breakfast, followed by video analysis / theory and surf specific yoga. At midday there's some rest time to explore the local area / lunch options, then at 3:30pm the second surf session of the day starts, the bar opens at 5pm, dinner at 7pm, sleep and repeat! The rest day is Wednesday when we organise a local excursion.
On your final night we will cook up a big BBQ to celebrate an awesome trip and hopefully be up early to enjoy one last dawnie surf before you head off to wherever you are travelling to next.

Fun waves and the friendliest people - simply the best surf trip ever. Will Jessup
This was one of the best vacations of my life! Surfed a lot, met amazing people and there was a great atmosphere at the surf camp. Beautiful beach right in front of you and the surf camp is situated in a very authentic and local area. Max, Angie and Lee were amazing, ready to meet everybody's needs and create a friendly, chilled out and sparkling vibe.Elena De Besi
I had a great time in beautiful Sri Lanka, surfing in clear blue warm water and making new friends, shame it was all over too quickly!Pat Porter
Sri Lanka is beautiful with blue green sea, unspoilt beaches and perfect waves. Two weeks of paradise with amazing people, eating fantastic food and drinking arrack. Partying from sunset to sunrise...The surfing was pretty sick too. Thank you!Siobahn Hill

My trip to Sri Lanka was insane! The country is absolutely incredible, all of the people I met were super fun and friendly and my surfing ability has come on so much. I can't wait for my next Ticket to Ride Adventure!Ellen Rudge
Fantastic trip and a great atmosphere throughout the entire time. I’ve met so many great people on this trip, with whom I hope to stay in touch and reconnect in the future. I was lucky enough to be put in a single room, which was a bonus and made a huge difference to the overall experience. Great vibes at Sion Surf camp, amazing time and great staff there; their BBQs are legendary by now. Everything was well organised before the trip and during the entire stay, and Max and Josh made sure everything went smooth, were very responsive to anything we have raised with them, or whenever we have asked any questions and also well connected with our group. It was quite intense first two weeks, packed with yoga, surf, and more surf, but in a good sense. I loved that we could see our videos and photos from each day trip and see our progress and receive feedback. I have never had that before in any of my surf trips (even organised ones) and it really makes a huge difference to improve, if you can see yourself and get a feedback on your surfing. Also Olly and Rodger our local surf instructors were very nice and wanted to ensure we had fun and catching waves, even when the swell was small. I can say the same about Fasal from Arugambay, who gave us very useful tips before each session. It was definitely one of my best surf trips, I somehow magically managed to progress to much shorter board, I thought it would take me another two years to ride! It was a great holiday, one of the best.Irena Miroforidu
Sri Lanka, a stunning country to learn to surf in! Perfect for beginners, and intermediates, and made all the more special by a great coaching team of Josh David and Max! Don’t think about it! DO IT!!Lisa
The best way to sum up TTR trips is 'good vibes'. From the surf instructors, yoga, camp staff and the weird and wonderful people you meet on the trip, the good vibes are always flowing. Couldn't recommend a TTR trip more if you want to improve your surf, practice yoga, explore a stunning new country and drink local beers with awesome like-minded people along the way.Ellen
Loved the trip, first surfing experience abroad to remember. Can't speak highly enough of Josh as an instructor and general organiser of daily activities as well as David and the Sion instructors. Will definitely be back to sri lankaElin
You just need to budget for 2 evening meals out, lunch and alcohol. So your budget depends on your consumption of the above. A beer at the roof top bar costs around £1.50, a local curry costs around £2 and Tuna Steak and fries costs around £6.
This trip is only for surfers who can at least catch waves comfortably and ride in both directions, ideally starting to do basic turns.
Everyone traveling to Sri Lanka must have Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) for entering in to Sri Lanka. Visit www.eta.gov.lkfor more information.
Travelers who have completed the recommended doses of COVID-19 vaccination and arriving after 2 weeks of completion of vaccination will be considered as fully vaccinated travelers. Any vaccination type accepted by the country of origin is acceptable.
A fully vaccinated traveller must have a negative PCR test result within 72 hours of entering the country, then you can roam freely.
If you are unvaccinated you must spend stay at a Certified Safe & Secure L1 hotel/s for the first 15 days of the visit and undergo an on-arrival PCR test, followed by a 2nd PCR (Exit PCR) on Day 14.
So essentially it is easy to enter if you are fully vaccinated, and expensive and long if you are not.

We reccomend booking a licenced transfer from the transfer desk at arrivals. The cars are fully insured and adhere to the current COVID-19 regulations set by the government. The price is set and the same price as haggling around on the ground. The return transfer we can help arrange from here and you will normally be able to share this cost with other travellers. Transfers are currently 11,000 LKR (approx £40) and they take two hours.
Yes you can book the surf course only. This starts on Sunday, finishes on Friday, with Wednesday as the day of rest. The cost is £325 including pre surf coffee & fruit, surf lesson, breakfast, surf analysis, surf specific yoga, afternoon surf session and dinner.
